On May 27th, a seminar titled “Netcom’s Experiences in the Field of Hybrid Powertrains“ was held as part of the Hybrid Propulsion Systems course, included in the first year of the Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Naples Federico II.
The course, taught by Professors Vincenzo De Bellis and Enrica Malfi, hosted a special session dedicated to the dialogue between academia and industry in a field—vehicle electrification—that is of crucial importance for the future of sustainable mobility.
Opening the seminar, Engineer Enrico Landolfi, Innovation Manager at NetCom Engineering, introduced the company and the activities of the Innovation department, highlighting the strategic role the company plays in the advanced engineering landscape, with a focus on projects related to automotive, ICT, and artificial intelligence.
Subsequently, Engineer Teresa Tesone, Key Account Manager, presented the training path dedicated to young engineers within the GYM program, a structured initiative designed to support graduates and recent graduates in a vertical professional growth journey within the automotive sector, with particular attention to engine calibration, electrification, and functional validation topics.
The core part of the seminar was held by Engineer Ignazio Sorrentino, Senior Calibration Engineer and active member of the GYM training faculty, who delivered a technical lesson on hybrid architectures, illustrating concrete cases drawn from NetCom’s experience on projects developed for key automotive industry clients. From mild-hybrid to plug-in architectures, the presentation allowed students to directly experience the complexity and design richness that characterize modern development of electrified powertrains.
The initiative is part of a broader strategy of collaboration between the university and industry, aimed at strengthening the skills of future engineers through direct exposure to real-world industrial challenges. This synergy reaffirms the university’s role as a catalyst for innovation and excellence in education.
