The group of researchers “KNOWMAN” (KNOWledge MANagement Group) established within the joint research laboratory between NetCom Group and the University of Salerno, was ranked third in the Hackathon of the European Space Agency held between 12th-15th October 2021, and also won the special prize of ESA BIC LAZIO to carry out the feasibility study of our idea and the validation of the business model, perhaps with a possible startup. The event is aimed at start-ups, students, and researchers to develop a demo application based on the concept of big data, contributing to the New Space Economy by offering innovative services and new business models. Demos of the results must provide new insights into how space big data serves society and contributes to the growth of the economy, as well as extending the number of Copernicus users benefiting from the latest technologies.
Loki configures itself as a system dedicated to Public Administration able to support decisions for the development and management of the territory, in particular, of Local Stakeholders. Through the data coming from the satellite infrastructure of the ESA (European Space Agency), Loki aims to create an advanced recommendation system able to identify the best solutions for the development and sustainability of the territory, both at agricultural and urban planning level. For example, suggesting new production processes to farmers by accompanying them, through digital storytelling, from the beginning until the realization and launch of the product.
